In 1957, Claude B. Kendall, owner of the Key West Shrimp House had a vision to bring families to the greater south side of Indianapolis to enjoy fine dining, great entertainment and an evening in the amphitheater at Garfield Park. Through his leadership and partnership with the Madison Avenue Businessmen Association the "Miracle Mile Parade" was formed.

Today, some 50 years later, the founding members of the Gateway Community Alliance join forces with both the private and public sectors on a journey to re-discover the Miracle Mile Parade on Saturday, September 5th, 2009. There are 7 divisions with 15 entries each. Only 105 entries will be selected by the Parade Committee. Send entry request to the "Miracle Mile Parade", 3205 Madison Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46227.
